As the U.S. infrastructure system continues to age, enhancing and securing safety across our rails, motor vehicles and pipelines will be a key challenge will over the next few years.

A new approach, which has worked well in the aviation industry, involves proactively gathering and analyzing data to identify and mitigate risks before an accident happens. How to ensure privacy and cybersecurity of this data, while allowing broad accessibility to the data across the transportation industry, remains an issue with this potential solution.
